Biography

Dr Ray Dallin emigrated to Australia in 1970 after graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta, Canada. He lectured at the Western Australian Institute of Technology (now Curtin University) from 1972 where he helped found the School of Marketing. During this time he was seconded for two years by the Education Department to be the Head of Marketing at Canning and Tuart Colleges, and was appointed to a one-year term as a Visiting Lecturer to the University of Virginia (USA) while on study leave. In 1985, he left academia to work as a Marketing Manager for three local companies and completed his Masters of Commerce. In 1989 Dr Dallin was appointed Manager of Executive Programmes and Senior Lecturer at the UWA School of Management, and in 1994 returned to Curtin University to serve as Director of Executive Programmes and Senior Lecturer at the Curtin Graduate School of Business. From 1998-2011, Dr Dallin served as CEO of first Kingsway Christian College, and then Rehoboth Christian College, while completing his Doctor of Education (Leadership), before being appointed as WA State Director Christian Schools Australia (CSA).

Dr Dallin has served on a number of not-for-profit boards, including Mission Australia, Perth City Mission, and Sonshine FM, and today serves on the Board of Tabor Bible College (Perth) and of Asia Evangelistic Fellowship International. He has worked as a marketing consultant for a range of private and public organisations, and carried out executive training for private companies, financial institutions and government departments, including but not limited to the Australian Institute of Mangement (AIM), Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Department of Youth Sport and Recreation, Credit Union Assocation, DEET, Western Mining/Alcoa and Singapore Airlines. Over the last 14 years, Dr Dallin has also organised a number of state education conferences with well-known national and international speakers.

Biography

Foundation Professor of Economics, Dr Rajasundram Sathiendrakumar, graduated from the University of Ceylon and completed his Masters of Arts in Economics at the University of Manchester as a British Council Scholar. After working for several years as an economist in Sri Lanka, Dr Sathiendrakumar completed his PhD at the University of Newcastle, and in 1989 was appointed as a tenured lecturer at Murdoch University. He  lectured in Economics at Murdoch University for the next 25 years and served in a variety of administrative roles, including unit coordinator for several undergraduate and postgraduate units, external studies coordinator, membership of several university committees and 7 years as an elected member of the Murdoch University Academic Council.

Over the course of his career, Dr Sathiendrakumar has made significant contributions to the community, including serving on WA Curriculum Council Economics committees, holding offices on international committees, and working as an economist and consultant for national and international organisations including the International Labour Organisation (ILO) and the Asian Development Bank, while also finding time to serve on local church councils in NSW and WA. He was a member of the Indian Ocean Research Group and the Asia Research Centre, and is the author of 68 publications, including book chapters, refereed journal articles and conference papers. Dr Sathiendrakumar was appointed as a Visiting Fellow to the National University of Singapore (1992-3), University of Dundee, University of Strathclyde, and University of Birmingham (1995-6), University of the South Pacific (2000), and the University of Western Sydney (2011).

Biography

Dr Maya Krayneva (previously Dr Maja Hadzic) was born in Bosnia & Herzegovina and left in 1992 when civil war broke out in the former Yugoslavia. She completed her Bachelor of Chemistry and Masters in Biochemistry at the University of Antwerp in Belgium while working as a medical researcher in the Department of Neurogenetics. In 1999, Dr Krayneva emigrated to Australia and was appointed to the position of Research Associate at the Royal Newcastle Hospital/University of Newcastle in the Department of Virology and Microbiology and the Cancer Research Unit. After completing her PhD in Health Information Systems at Curtin University, Dr Krayneva was appointed as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Digital Ecosystems and Business Intelligence Institute (DEBII) at Curtin Business School, where she oversaw a number of research projects, supervised Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students, taught Information Systems, and served as the Head of HDR and Deputy Head of Research and Development. From 2012-2014, Dr Krayneva served as Research and Reports Coordinator, and Health Workforce Australia Lead Coordinator for Bethanie.

Dr Krayneva is the author or co-author of 45 publications, including a book and several book chapters, refereed journal articles and referereed conference papers. Dr Krayneva is also the recipient of several scholarships, awards, and research grants, and has chaired subcommittees for international conferences on Bioinformatics, Digital Ecosystems and Computer-Based Medical Systems.

Biography

Dr Graham Blick trained as a teacher in Rhodesia (now Zimbabwe) but moved into a corporate career in human resource management, serving as a Personnel Manager in a wide range of industries, including mining (Union Carbide and Goldfields, Africa), retail (Johnson & Fletcher), and education (Rhodesia, Zimbabwe, South Africa). In 1985, his family returned  to Australia and over the next twenty (20) years he served in senior HR management positions for Mount Isa Mine holdings, W A, the State Electricity Commission of Victoria, Nabalco (Alusuisse Lonza) NT & NSW, the Water Corporation WA, and Aerospace Engineering Services WA (Singapore Technologies Aerospace). During this time, he also completed a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) at Monash University, and undertook private consulting work in the fields of small business management, total quality management and industrial relations. In 2001, Dr Blick commenced his DBA, and in 2008 commenced working as a sessional lecturer in the higher education and VET sectors. Dr Blick taught MBA units at Curtin Graduate School of Business and Curtin School of Management, and Associate Degree in business and aviation units for Swan TAFE and Polytechnic West. In 2014, he completed his Doctor of Business Administration.

Throughout his career, Dr Blick has been active in industry, governance and community engagement. He has served on a number of boards, including as a director of the Nhulunbuy Corporation, an Executive Director and VP Industrial Relations of the NT Confederation of Industry and Commerce Inc, a trustee on Nabalco Staff and Wages Superannuation Fund, Regional Counsellor for the Australian Human Resources Institute (WA) the Australian Institute of Management (AIM), Victoria and Church Secretary (5yrs) for North Beach Baptist Church, WA. He is currently a Fellow of AHRI and AIM, a Member of the Australian Institute of Training and Development and of the Industrial Relations Society, a Director of Davilshea  Pty Ltd, the Director of Swan Consulting, a registered teacher, WACE examiner and independent reviewer for Aviation, and a WACE independent reviewer for Business Management and Enterprise.

Biography

Mr Blake Hurst graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) summa cum laude from the University of Houston in 1989 and received the Dean's Award for the highest graduating GPA in the College of Social Sciences. He won a Fulbright Scholarship in Economics to study at the National University of Singapore in 1990, and followed up with a Masters of Arts in Theological Studies at Austin Theological Seminary (USA) in 1993 and PhD candidacy in Religious Studies at Rice University (USA). Blake subsequently moved to California and completed his Doctor of Jurisprudence at Stanford University in 2000, while working as a Faculty Research Assistant at Stanford Law School. In 2002, he moved to Australia and completed a Graduate Diploma of Human Resource Management at Edith Cowan University, then went on to work at the Salvation Army. Blake returned to Singapore in 2006 as a Lecturer at the Centre for American Education, where he taught undergraduate courses in Business Law and World Religions. In 2008, he was appointed Assistant Professor of Business at Belhaven University (USA), where he taught a wide range of business and theology units. After three years, Blake returned again to Singapore to work as Senior Trainer and Content Developer for CKA Media and Training Centre, where he prepared students for admission to North American universities and designed content for an INSEAD admissions test evaluating prospective Executive MBA applicants. Blake is now back in Australia and completing a PhD in Theology at Vose Seminary.

Biography

Matthew Bambach began as a bank officer before being called to serve in Nepal as a business manager for a mission organisation from 1986-1987. He completed a Bachelor of Business in Human Resource Management and Industrial Relations at Edith Cowan University in 1991, and subsequently moved to Great Britain, where he served as the regional coordinator for another mission organisation, and completed a Master of Arts in Human Resource Management at Middlesex University. Matthew returned to Australia in 1996, and has since worked in management roles in health care and education, including 6 years as CEO of the Association for Christian Education Inc., and 5 years as State Coordinator and WA Executive Officer of Christian Parent Controlled Schools (CPCS) and Christian Education National (CEN), during which time he also completed his Graduate Diploma of Education.

In 2007, Matthew was recruited by the Edith Cowan University School of Management, where he taught units in leadership, management and human resource management until 2013. After two years as Director of Corporate Services at St Stephen’s School, he joined the Sheridan College faculty in January 2015. Matthew is a registered teacher with TRBWA, an Associate Fellow of the Australian Institute of Management (AFAIM), a Certified Professional at the Australian Human Resources Institute (CAHRI), and the owner/director of Kimberley Safari Tours.

Biography

Mr Peter Ho was born in Hong Kong and moved to Australia in 1999. He completed his Bachelor of Business (major in Accounting) at Edith Cowan University in 2003, and a Masters of Science in Actuarial and Financial Science in 2010. Peter Ho worked for FESCO in Hong Kong for several years before being appointed to a ministry position at Perth Alliance Church in 2011. In 2012, he completed a Graduate Diploma of Education at Edith Cowan University, with a major in Secondary Mathematics teaching and a minor in Computing. In 2013, Peter Ho began working as a sessional academic in Mathematics at Curtin University, tutoring first year Mathematics classes.

Biography

Mr Darren Smith graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in History and Political Science in 1996 from the University of Western Australia. After studying theology at the Baptist Theological College in WA (now Vose Seminary) for 18 months, he left Australia for Shenyang, China, where he taught English and first-year university courses in Economics, Accounting and Company Law at the Liaoning Business Vocational College, and recruited Australian teachers to live and work in China. In 2002, he was appointed Director of Development at Shenyang International School, supporting Chinese nationals in the start-up of private educational initiatives. In 2006, Darren was appointed as Principal of Shenyang International School. In 2010, he completed an MBA at Murdoch University and returned to Australia to direct Australian Baptist Education's higher education initiative.

Darren has previously served on the boards of Shenyang International School and the International School of Qingdao, of the Shenyang-based medical charity Light, and of Xiuqiu, a Shenyang-based social enterprise textile factory. He currently serves as a director on the boards of Australian Baptist Education Inc, Baptist Education Resources Inc, Quinns Baptist College, Geelong Baptist College, Alkimos Baptist College, Austin Cove Baptist College, Sheridan College and Sheridan Research Institute.
