Biography

Dr Maya Krayneva (previously Dr Maja Hadzic) was born in Bosnia & Herzegovina and left in 1992 when civil war broke out in the former Yugoslavia. She completed her Bachelor of Chemistry and Masters in Biochemistry at the University of Antwerp in Belgium while working as a medical researcher in the Department of Neurogenetics. In 1999, Dr Krayneva emigrated to Australia and was appointed to the position of Research Associate at the Royal Newcastle Hospital/University of Newcastle in the Department of Virology and Microbiology and the Cancer Research Unit. After completing her PhD in Health Information Systems at Curtin University, Dr Krayneva was appointed as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in the Digital Ecosystems and Business Intelligence Institute (DEBII) at Curtin Business School, where she oversaw a number of research projects, supervised Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students, taught Information Systems, and served as the Head of HDR and Deputy Head of Research and Development. From 2012-2014, Dr Krayneva served as Research and Reports Coordinator, and Health Workforce Australia Lead Coordinator for Bethanie.

Dr Krayneva is the author or co-author of 45 publications, including a book and several book chapters, refereed journal articles and referereed conference papers. Dr Krayneva is also the recipient of several scholarships, awards, and research grants, and has chaired subcommittees for international conferences on Bioinformatics, Digital Ecosystems and Computer-Based Medical Systems.

Biography

Dr Jason Coughran completed his Bachelor of Applied Science (Honours) in Ecology in 2001 at Southern Cross University and immediately followed up with a PhD in Biology. in 2006. He has 15 years of experience in taxonomy, biology, ecology, conservation and management of aquatic biota, and has served in a diverse range of environmental consultancy, research and academic positions, including teaching Aquaculture Management, Fisheries Biology, Wetland Ecosystems and Sustainable Water Resource Management at Southern Cross University and Edith Cowan University, and supervising several final year undergraduate student research projects.

Dr Coughran is the author or co-author of over 80 scientific works, including books, book chapters, professional technical reports, refereed journal articles, conference papers and general articles. His work has yielded important developments in taxonomy, biology and conservation, including the discovery and formal description of more than a dozen species new to science, and conservation assessments of more than 50 species for the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. He is a Board Member of the International Association of Astacology and an Editoral Board Member of Freshwater Crayfish, and owns and operates jagabar Environmental, a private environmental research and consulting business.

Biography

Dr Adeyeye was born in Nigeria and completed his undergraduate engineering studies at Ladoke Akintola University of Technology and his Masters of Engineering at Covenant University. During this time, Dr Adeyeye also served as the Lead Developer and Project Coordinator for a new IT systems solution at the US embassy in Nigeria. In 2007, Dr Adeyeye moved to South Africa, completing a second Master degree and a PhD at the University of Cape Town. Dr Adeyeye worked as a Senior Researcher and Lecturer at Cape Peninsula University of Technology until 2014, when he moved to Australia. He served as software engineer for The Serval Project at Flinders University, before joining Sheridan College in 2015.

During his career, Dr Adeyeye has been engaged in a number of technical projects in Africa, including web design, session mobility and mobile phone networking projects, and has published widely in these fields. He has also served as a software consultant for Mozilla Corporation since 2008.

Biography

Mr Peter Ho was born in Hong Kong and moved to Australia in 1999. He completed his Bachelor of Business (major in Accounting) at Edith Cowan University in 2003, and a Masters of Science in Actuarial and Financial Science in 2010. Peter Ho worked for FESCO in Hong Kong for several years before being appointed to a ministry position at Perth Alliance Church in 2011. In 2012, he completed a Graduate Diploma of Education at Edith Cowan University, with a major in Secondary Mathematics teaching and a minor in Computing. In 2013, Peter Ho began working as a sessional academic in Mathematics at Curtin University, tutoring first year Mathematics classes.
